Every Sunday, the Hemel Hempstead Old Town market is hosted in the church square, where you can browse quality artisanal goods produced by local vendors.

A very convenient area of Hemel Hempstead for those commuting to St Albans or working on the nearby industrial estate, Leverstock Green is a well-connected little touch of suburbia. With surrounding open fields and sizeable gardens, much of Leverstock Green feels spacious and leafy. The focal point of this area is the cricket green, around which sit family homes, pubs and schools. For secondary pupils, the nearby Longdean School is rated Good by Ofsted.

These central areas of Hemel Hempstead are always bustling around the wealth of schools and shops, with the added bonus of the Snow Centre and Jarman Park for the more adventurous among us. If the skate park, ice rink, athletic track, climbing wall, contract-free gym or even Tesco’s superstore wear you out, you can always cool off at the cinema or enjoy a meal in one of the many restaurants. This area is very close to the centre of Hemel Hempstead, so it has great transportation links.

Boxmoor is one of our most popular areas of Hemel Hempstead in which to buy or rent property, and for good reason. Considered a village in its own right, Boxmoor is a dream for those who want to live a quiet life without compromising on amenities or things to do in the local area. While the sports centre can keep you busy when it’s raining, on a nice day, Boxmoor is the perfect place to browse the local shops on the high street before taking a walk down past the cricket green to the moor, where you can often see wildlife roam free. Every July, Boxmoor hosts the Carters Steam Fair, the largest travelling vintage funfair in the world, and the circus comes to town in March.

Apsley is a peaceful spot loved by the canal boat community. Its rail station makes it a popular location for commuters into London Euston, but the neighbourhood itself still has plenty of bars and restaurants to convince you to stay local. Apsley Mills retail park and its proximity to a large supermarket makes the area a convenient shopping alternative for those living outside of Hemel Hempstead town centre. Once a key part of the paper manufacturing business, the canal that runs through Apsley and its marina is now a pleasant place for a stroll, with waterside properties on the market for those who are able to snap them up. Not far from here, history-lovers and golfers can enjoy the hotel and grounds of Shendish Manor.

To the West of Hemel Hempstead, Kings Langley also has the advantage of its own train station, with regular connections into London Euston taking only 28 minutes. Nestled in the countryside, this highly sought-after area of Hemel Hempstead has maintained its village charm, with a quaint high street, ample choice of bars & restaurants and a warm community feel. The area is served by the well-performing Kings Langley Primary and Secondary Schools.
Abbot's Langley
Abbot's Langley
A village with a real sense of community, Abbot’s Langley is a popular area in which to find a property to rent or buy. It’s located in between Hemel Hempstead and Watford, with both traditional and modern styles of property available. Its proximity to excellent motorway links are complemented by the lush countryside that surrounds it. The village has a small “High Street” with shops and restaurants and its own primary schools. Abbot’s Langley has a very interesting history, even making an appearance in the Domesday Book in the year 1086.
